My aims are to improve mobility and pain, by treating holistically, taking into account factors affecting the body through the mind and the environment. Pain is the body’s last method to signal that it is losing balance. Beforehand, there are sites that are getting either too much or too little activity, which the person might not be aware of due to the body´s continuous efforts to restore its optimal functional state. Preventing problems is always better than rehabilitating them afterwards, but mostly patients attend treatment after a problem/pain has started. I also help to increase awareness and understanding of how your own body works. You can tell me anything that worries you about your body or your health. A treatment plan is made together with the patient and, when beneficial, in collaboration with other professionals.
The treatment itself is medical manual therapy, you will be seated or lay down on your front, back or side while I work through tissues which are involved in the problems. Typically you do not need to dress down a lot, but I may need to see how especially joints appear like. One layer of soft clothing is advised and afterwards you should not do strenuous activities.
I am open, honest and an attentive listener. I started studying on this field because I want to help others. I am bilingual Finnish and English speaking professional who has studied and worked in multiple European countries. I have a comprehensive understanding of how the body and pain work, but I am also a perpetual student and actively continue to develop and maintain my knowledge and skills.
